The sorceress Zi Yuan cursed the evil Emperor Han centuries ago and made him and his army mummies. The British government invites Rick O'Connell, an explorer, and Evelyn O'Connell, to visit China to retrieve a "The Eye of Shangri-La", a precious relic. This ancient stone can resurrect Emperor Han, and point the way to Shangri-La. The couple meets their son Alex O'Connell and Evelyn's brother Jonathan Carnahan when they travel to China. Their friend, Prof. Roger Wilson is associated with General Yang and betrays the O'Connells. Yang is determined to serve Emperor Han so he revives the mummy before they set off for Shangri-La. Lin, the guardian for Han's tomb and Zi's daughter tells them that there are only two ways to kill Han: by stopping him reaching Shangri-La (or stabbing his heart with cursed daggers). --Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
