A castle perched high on a hill houses Edward, an inventor's most important creation. He is a nearly-complete man. Edward was not finished by his creator, so he left behind metal scissors. He has been living alone since then. Until Peg, a kind woman, discovers him, and invites him to her home. He is welcomed into the community by everyone at first.
